  • 4405 Land Use Team awarded Merit Entry into the 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers

    Driver Travis Carpenter will “Race for Access” once again with fundraiser for the Blue Ribbon Coalition

    Driver Travis Carpenter and the Ultra4 4405 Land Use rig have been awarded a “Merit Entry” by Hammerking Productions into the famed 2011 Griffin King of the Hammers race.  The merit entry is based on the team’s ongoing efforts to promote responsible land use, raise awareness of land use issues, and to generate funds, volunteers and memberships for various land use organizations.

    Billed as the “Land Use” buggy, its land use outreach program has had the 4405 on near constant display since its inception in 2008. The vehicle has been seen in many magazines, on trails all over the West Coast, in parades, on trail work parties, and at many schools and businesses. It is used as a centerpiece to talk about responsible OHV use and to promote the sport as a whole. (more…)

  • NorCal Rock Racing Entertainment for Spectators and Fun for Competitors

    RANCHO CORDOVA, CA    OCTOBER 20, 2010:  The Nor-Cal Rock Race on Saturday October 16th was entertaining for the spectators, and a lot of fun for the competitors with hundreds of dollars in prizes to win, and a $2,000 cash pro purse.  “We had so much fun, it was the best $200 entry fee I have spent!”   Randy Avery, who raced a red jeep on 35” tires, took the win for the Metal Cloak team and left with $1600 of cash in his pocket.

    Even though the list of drivers was short, the action that they brought to the course was crowd pleasing.  “From the middle of the track you could heard the crowd laughing, cheering, and ohhing,” said John Goodby, Event Producer. “Especially when they starting racing side by side and literally went wheel to wheel.”  NorCal Rock Racing is short course racing with large rock piles, dirt obstacles and lots of turns that make it a perfect match for the Ultra4 cars all the way to Sportsman Class trail rock crawlers that want to prove they can go fast through the rocks too.   • Dave Cole and Jason Scherer Team up for the 2011 Ultra4 Season

    APPLE VALLEY, CA SEPTEMBER 24, 2010 In a perfectly matched scenario, Jason Scherer will be driving the Dave Cole Motorsports Ultra4 car for the 2011 season. Their season will consist of the 2011 King of the Hammers, 2011 Grand Slam Series and the 2011 Best in the Desert series as well as selected VORRA races.

    The blue digital camo car has been featured in multiple magazines as an icon of the Ultra 4 class. Car owner Dave Cole “is excited to be joining into a partnership with Jason Scherer. This is the ultimate winning team with a proven driver behind the wheel of a quality car.” The car is prepped at Desert Concepts Inc. and is currently getting ready for the 2010 Baja 1000 where the Pirate4x4 team will race in Class 1 down the Baja peninsula.   • Exit 28 Motorsports Park Opens Gates for Ultra4 Stampede Race

    RENO, NV   SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 ~ Exit 28 Motorsports Park is excited to host the Stampede race produced by Hammerking Productions and sponsored by ORI of Reno.  Designated spectator areas will be $10/per person per area, 10 years and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and everyone is expected to stay behind the protective barriers.  The main parking area is free and accessible by passenger cars.  Wristbands can be pre-purchased on Thursday and Friday at the ORI of Reno display booth to help eliminate congestion on Saturday morning.

    The green flag will drop at 10am on Saturday September 11th and is expected to finish by 6pm. Please plan on coming early if you would like to see the beginning of the race, the road will be closed intermittently throughout the day as racecars cross.  There are two spectator friendly viewing areas with no stadium seating, camp chairs are recommended for all areas.
