    Samco Fabrication has developed a new bolt-on skidplate for Spidertrax Spider9 axle housings to add strength and protection to your expensive third member.  The removable third member used in Ford 9” axles makes for easy gear ratio and differential swaps when compared to traditional axle housings, but only if the mounting studs on the housing are not damaged and bent.  Racing and hard recreational use can lead to impacts that damage the studs or even crack the third member, resulting in catastrophic failure.
