I guess I need more info.
What's the ratio of the crawl box and the atlas? meaning 2.62:1 for the crawl box and 3.8:1 for the atlas? as stated combined they are 10.3:1 but you don't have to run both in low.
agreed with woody. Looks like you are oversteering. The tire looks like its 75-80 deg when steered all the way!!
Care to break down the parts list your using? Ram length? Looks like busted knuckle hi steer arms. What ram length does BK say to use with those arms?
With the Ram turned all the way to one side you want the link on the extended side to be as straight as possible. This is when the ram is at its most vulnerable. Keeping the link on the extended side as straight as possible helps protect the ram and the seals. Short side doesn't matter and at...
I know you wheel a lot. Still feeling like the overdrive isn't worth it? Did know if maybe time to settle in would make shifting a little easier / figure out the right combo to make it shift better. Plus I just like updates on this thread. LOL
Well hell! Thanks a ton for the detailed report. I certainly don't do a ton of death climbs and I do not compete.
The main reason I was wanted to run 4.88/5.13 is because wouldn't have to buy 5.13's for the front axle when I swap the 44 for the 60. I have a set of 4.88 HP 60 gears on the...
Woody I'd love to see you try to overdrive again and tell us how the APEX handles it. What didn't the MMW case like about it exactly? Asking because i'm planning to run 4.88/5.13 with my APEX.
Great write up Woody!!!!!! I to got an Apex while they were on sale. Sadly I haven't made time to put mine together yet. So I'll be re reading and asking some questions when the time comes.
soooo cool!! Have you ever had a flat on the trailer? Typically its 7-10 hours for me to wheel. Rare once a decade west trips are20-28 hours!
Single axle is lightest but also scares me.
EDIT: Not that I can't change a flat tire.....I worry what will happen to truck, trailer and buggy if I...
Any idea what a 3RZ weighs? I love this little power plan but i've never seen what it weighs to compare it to an Ecotec or 22RE (weight wise not power wise LOL).
Liking the build!!! I have a OG roc lizard and those two axles all sitting in my shop right now so I'll be watching for updates on this one!
Edit: Not sure if its possible but this thread should be moved to 4x4 and truck tech so it can get more traffic with the other build threads!!
Can anyone confirm that the internal splines on the upper gear for both the 10K and 12K are 32 spline? I think they are but can't 100% confirm that. Also is that the same pressure angle as the 32 spline on a T-case output?
