I'm somewhat surprised by the size differences. The additional beef is awesome but the tight fitment of some of these chassis with stock dana 300s is gonna make it a bit rough I think.
Running a 1" jama master with my jhf brakes and have been very happy with them once I got the stroke right. I've also had decent success reducing pedal travel with those in line pressure valves on my previous Toyota with cutting brakes. Looking good woody! I want to also change my fan control...
Day 3 it was just Daniel and I as Jeff and John were staying longer and were going to run these trails the following day. The weather forecast was also not favorable but we were there and figured it was worth a shot. Well we headed to captain and got caught in some rain and ended up dropping...
The next day we move the trailers over to Tback and Bikini about an hour away. We barely beat the DTC crowd there and parking was tight. We jumped on Tback first and second or third obstacle John dropped his right rear in a hole and throttle rolled his car over. We did a quick recovery, bumped...
A small group of us met up in South Dakota separately from Dtc the week of labor day weekend. It was my first time over that way and absolutely loved the scenery and terrain. 3 of the 4 cars had a few issues, two flops but we covered almost everything we wanted to.
Day 1 was dropping down...
Workes on setting pressures and ride height. Ordered a new rear driveshaft since the local place was ending up super spendy to lengthen the old one. I'll probably just grab it from them and do it myself as a spare.
Levers are cutting brake levers i retrofitted to the dana 300.link below:

Just waiting on axle shafts and boots and one trans part as i found out my trans wasnt quite done to par when i tested it on jackstands. Hoping that shows up asap and i can get it to a shakedown. I also need to lengthen the rear driveshaft
Caster ended up about 7 rear and 7 front. However I wish i would have went less particularly behind. I also got the shifter and controls mounted up and pretty pleased how they turned out.
I then got started on ram mounts and while i knew the rams would be lower unless i wanted more chassis chopping, i didnt quite realize how far up and into the axle they actually needed to be for proper tie rod arm geometry, so i did the best i could and actually hshould have went a hair lower...
Been awhile... So much has happened. Cs and portals arrived which allowed me to move forward on axle side brackets/tabs, reverify clearances and begin work on ram Mounts
They are super tall, some have struggled with getting the tuning correct including throttle input smooth, additionally I have heard there have been alot of Direct Injection issues to the point that GM has parts backordered and people have started deleting it, which costs $$
I'm running a 3.9 LZ9. Just got it running in the buggy the other night. Has a good torque curve that claims 90% available by about 1500 rpm or so, though a lot of the info I saw it was actually by about 2500-2700. The caveat is they aren't very supported in the aftermarket so everything is...
I got the exhaust mostly done then decided i didnt like the lower link clearance and how tight it was to the torque converter.
So.... I redid most of it to go up and over the back of the trans. I painted with three step VHT flameproof then wrapped. Goal is to hopefully get it running this...
I did have issues with the stainless locking up during install but found if i ran them in the extruded U nuts first alone or a dab of antiseize all was good.
I've been working on fighting the exhaust system and overall fairly happy. I ended up going under the torque converter between it and the skid that I also worked on fitting. Its a little close but i think should be fine.
Additionally i received my 2 31 spline 9" thirds with detroits! Ive done...
Finally got motor/trans/tcase mounted in final position. Had to make a different trans mount on single poly bushing and drill a new hole in tcase adapter then cut down the 700r4 outout shaft
Got a Sand Hollow Ofdroad Speed shifter as well!
I was just told. Mild steel headers rust unless coated. I have no experience though and am currently in a very similar boat deciding if a "stock" manifold system can work or if i need to use the header flanges i acquired to make some. I will likely go under front oil pan but over trans is also...
