Christmas has come early for snowmobilers this year. If you haven't already heard, Mount Jefferson is safe, at least for now. Mount Jefferson was designated Wilderness in U.S. Senator Jon Tester's Forest Jobs and Recreation Act. This rider was attached to the Senate's Draft of FY2012 Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill back in October, but it was not part of the conference version of the 2012 bill released last Thursday.
