Decided a small single axle trailer would be perfect for hauling the FToy around....so here goes!

Main rails and tongue are 2x3 -3/16" wall tube....cross rails are 2x3 -1/8" and misc unloaded rails are 2x3 -1/16". Axle is a fullwidth 5200# torsein (already had it) Tires are BFG T/A AS2s on 6 lug trailer wheels, 2680# ea rating at 80psi.

Material list for @Rjorgensen :
2ea 20' pieces of 2x3 -3/16" tube
3ea 20' pieces of 2x3 -1/8" tube (I wouldn't do the -1/16" again, stick to 1/8")
20' 1-1/4"x -1/8 angle iron

Not done yet, but that's what's in there now :)

Working on fender mounts now (removable) and will fill the front rail back to the fender next for a future wider buggy setup... outside rail to rail is 79" with a 12' deck length, perfect for my current FToy.

Has worked flawlessly.....over 8000 highway miles between UT and TX/AR and plenty of local miles too.

What is the weight of your crawler i have a tandem axle 18 ft utility trailer that can barely handle what ive got and i have to drive on the top rails since the trailer aint wide enough. The trailer has a weird bounce to it.

If you ever come back down to texas, oklahoma or arkansas after this virus let me know when and where id be happy to meet at one of the many offroad parks weve got around here.

2025 - 2018 is almost 7 years.... zero complaints, lots of miles, used it today.

I did give up on the fenders, and use a "splash" guard now.

soooo cool!! Have you ever had a flat on the trailer? Typically its 7-10 hours for me to wheel. Rare once a decade west trips are20-28 hours!

Single axle is lightest but also scares me.

EDIT: Not that I can't change a flat tire.....I worry what will happen to truck, trailer and buggy if I get a flat on a single axle.

Multiple trips to TX and AR with the buggy loaded, zero flats. I am a stickler for temperature checking EVERY tire and bearing on the tow rig and trailer at every stop, including tread inspections (two RV flats our first year, learn that expensive lesson early....) I also replace trailer tires every 3 years due to date codes, not wear. Cheap insurance :) (running Freestar trailer tires on both this one and my aluminum enclosed)

Do you use a TPMS? If so, which one. I ran the EEZtire monitor for years with no problems. I had two different towing scenarios (different number of tires and different pressures) and I figured I could just use whichever monitor I needed depending on what I was towing. So I bought a new (second) one and it was a piece of shit. Took forever to sync and then would blip in and out. Ended up tossing it. So I'm back to the old problem and debating what to do now.

I had a TPMS (probably still in a box somewhere)....one of the sensors "froze" and didn't register a tire pressure drop. $1000 tire change on the motorhome. Have stuck with a manual inspection ever since, and had zero issues.
