I am in the process of building a rock crawler ( my first )
.
I am starting out with a 2001 Ford F150 2WD that has a bad 4.6L engine I have a good used 302 out of a late 70's f150.

I am going to do a SAS too make it a 4x4 so I was wantig to know will the fuel injected intake on the 4.6 work on the 302 or will i need to get something else and will the stock auto out of the 2wd bolt to the 302,

I know I have a lot of fab work to make the front diff work on the truck i am planning on starting out with leaf springs both front and rear and when i get the money i am going to upgrade to a 4 link both front and rear with 3/4 or 1 ton axles.

also what trans t case would be the best combo for my app. I would like to keep the a/c working if at all possiable

any help would be great

You will likely find it far easier to keep the existing 4.6 or purchased a used one to replace it, versus dealing with the motor swap and all the headaches that always go along.

Nothing on the 4.6 will match with an older 302.

Sometimes, using "what you have" is a poor idea :)
