Times are changing, and that’s no exception here in Durango, Colorado! We have had the times of our lives over the last four years building our 2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ (Bessie II) into a competitive rock racing machine and visiting many states along the way to compete in over 25 events. We’ve learned a lot, promoted a lot a great products, and made a lot of new friends and business associates. Now, we are setting our sights on an even larger goal; racing in Baja, Mexico!

The team has acquired several 1976 – 1978 Jeep Cherokee Chiefs and will build one of the vehicles to compete in the 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000. The race spans over 1000 miles from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas, in stages, over a period of four days.

We have already started teardown, but it’s going to take us some time and resources to build a vintage desert racing vehicle from scratch. During this transitional year, we plan to stay active in the community by participating in several recreational four wheeling events in the Southwestern United States. Look for us to continue supplying the same great relevant content and to keep you informed about what’s going on in the off road and rock sports community.

We are excited to announce that Superchips and M.O.R.E. are returning as our primary sponsors and that many of our other partners will continue to work with us this season. We also want to thank New York Blower Company for their continued support as a Team Partner. Like many in the four-wheeling community, we will kick off our 2016 season at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari, hosted each year by the Red Rock Four Wheelers in Moab, Utah. During this week long event, held March 19th – March 27th, you will be able to catch up with us on some of the country’s best slick rock trails out there, visit with us at some of the many events hosted by our various marketing partners, and take in the two-day vendor’s show. The LJ is currently being prepped for this widely attended event. Look for us there with M.O.R.E.’s new coil spring bucket/shock mount for the TJ/LJ. We’ll complete the installation with a set of new Bilstein remote reservoir shocks. We’ve also been eyeing the redesigned TrailDash2 from Superchipsand plan to upgrade to one of these units soon for a larger display.

July 30th – August 6th will bring the Mile High Jeep Club to Empire, Colorado for the 50th Annual All-4-Fun event. We’ve attended the last two events, held in Buena Vista and Silverton, Colorado and can tell you this is a top notch event. Look for us with Mountain Off Road Enterprises and Superchips, as well as out in the backcountry enjoying Colorado’s legendary Jeep roads.

Our 2014 Four Door JK will be an important part of the team’s stable this year while transitioning to a new race vehicle platform. Look for upgrades on the JK to also include an upgraded TrailDash2, an air compressor and tank, dual batteries, and suspension upgrades from Clayton Off Road & Bilstein. Our 2012 Ram tow rig is also due for some new Bilstein shock absorbers and I think we’ll upgrade to one of the new Cold Air Intakes from Edge Products.

We can’t tell you how excited we are to hear that rock crawling competition will be returning to Farmington, New Mexico for the WEROCK Grand Nationals after many years of absence. We can’t pass up the opportunity to rock crawl in our own back yard! Please come out September 10th – 11th and support the team; we will be sure to have a special hospitality tent set up for all of our local supporters.

The weekend following the Grand Nationals is traditionally when the Cliffhangers 4WD Club hosts its annual Four Corners 4×4 Show & Swap. We’ve participated in the past, selling lots of used parts and winning two different first place awards in the show and shine. With vintage Jeeps race vehicles, UTVs, RTI ramp, food & drinks it’s not to be missed. We hope to see you there.

We always try to under-promise and over-deliver, so we’ll be sure to keep you posted if we are able to add any additional events to our competitive or recreational schedule as the season goes. You can check for schedule updates at http://fc4x4.com/schedule?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss. See you in Moab!
