MaxTrac Announces New 6-Inch Lift Kit For 2003-2008 2WD Dodge Ram 2500/3500

MT_DodgeHD6inK.jpg Anaheim, Calif. — With the prices of 4×4 trucks skyrocketing over the past few years, the traditional truck owner has gone back to the basics by purchasing a 2WD truck to get the job done. But what he had to sacrifice is being able to personalize his truck by lifting it along with larger wheels and tires. Well, that’s not the case any more.

MaxTrac Suspension offers a lower-cost alternative for 2WD owners to achieve the same look as 4x4s without breaking the bank. The company’s newest lift system for 2003-2008 Dodge Ram 2WD HD trucks affordably increases ground clearance.

The system’s marquee feature is MaxTrac 3.5-inch lift spindles, which can be purchased as a stand-alone kit, complete with proper-length DOT-approved braided-steel brake lines. Like O.E., the MaxTrac spindle is cast as a single piece of ductile iron. MaxTrac designed the spindle to keep steering and alignment geometry within factory spec. Also, tie-rod bosses and the neck area are thicker than O.E. to handle the weight of larger-than-stock tires and wheels. A durable e-coat finish improves the spindle’s overall look and fights rust.

The complete system adds springs, shocks, blocks and all necessary hardware. MaxTrac front coil springs are application-specific: Hemi versions provide 2.5 inches of lift while diesel coils are 3 inches taller than stock to compensate for the additional engine weight. These springs can also be purchased separately.

Rear leveling is accomplished with 2.5-inch fabricated steel blocks. Made in the USA, these blocks are tapered to maintain the proper pinion angle. Grey powdercoating provides an attractive, durable finish; extended-length U-bolts are included with the blocks. Finally, longer-than-stock MaxTrac rear twin-tube shocks and instructions are included to complete this bolt-on kit — no welding or cutting is required for installation.

Estimated labor time for this system is approximately four hours. Also, factory front dually wheels will clear the MaxTrac spindles, but single rear-wheel Rams will require aftermarket rims that are at least 17 inches tall and have a maximum 4.75 inches of backspacing.

All kit components are backed by MaxTrac’s limited lifetime warranty.
