I’ve owned the TJ since 2005, built like this in 2011. It was built to be Johnson Valley capable; but be liveable on milder trails and the street. It visits JV, Cougar Buttes, Big Bear, Parker, Havasu, Sand Hollow just about every year; Rubicon, Moab or Silverton occasionally. Has been capable and reliable.
Of course, things have happened in 15 yrs of wheeling (rod ends wear and need replacing, PSC parts go bad, sensors need replacement, T-case leaked and needed rebuild), but I’ve only been stuck on the trail twice in all these years (Cam sensor and flat tire). AC & heater work well. Ready for a new owner and a new set of adventures.
$25,000 OBO
Details
Frame: 7.5” frame stretch, 102” wheelbase. The frame stretch (splice) pushes the frame arc back, allowing that arc to remain directly over the axle.
Fuel tank: The PureJeep stretch tank (a GR copy) was pushed up and back from the instructed mounting location, giving more clearance and WB. Most TJ’s with this tank end up at 100” WB; lots of work went into getting this to 102”. Pics 4, 5, & 6 show this.
Suspension: Custom 3 link front w track bar, triangulated 4 link rear, 28” arms, 12” Fox shocks, 4” Currie springs, Currie Anti Rock F&R. Stretch, steering & suspension by Blaine Johson in 2011 (this was done before the Savvy mid arm kit, most brackets & arms are custom)
Front Axle: JK HP Dana 44, sleeved, gusseted, Reid knuckles, OEM locker, RCV shafts
Rear Axle: JK Dana 44, ARB locker, Revolution 35 spline shafts teering: Custom, PSC ram assist
Gearing: Axles – 5.38, Transfer case – 2.7 (NP231 - rebuilt 2 yrs ago)

Wheels: 17” Raceline Monster 233 beadlocks
Armor: Savvy front bumper, sliders, corners, and rub rail. Custom aluminum flat trans, engine, and gas skids (20” belly clearance, 25” gas skid clearance)
Brakes: Black Magic JK Front Brake Kit
Engine: OEM 4.0, 113k miles, runs very smoothly (for a Jeep 4.0)
Transmission: AW4, full automatic w TCU, with auxiliary front and rear coolers. Blaine swapped trans same time as stretch & suspension build. Has been unintrusive for 15 years (once 2’d cooler was added)
