We shaving everything around here

Pulled the 205 down it was absolute mess. Came from Mississippi was coated with a thick layer of tar and sand. Pressure washer wouldn’t touch it. The fluid looked about the consistency honey and was rusted badly. I tore it all down and soaked everything in diesel for a week occasionally scrubbing warming the diesel and then letting it soak some more. Once I got everything half way clean I started wire wheeling the case.
I knew I wanted to shave as much as possible so I marked out what I thought was a conservative line and hit her with the cut of wheel. Shortly after I had a nice 6lb chunk of steel laying on the ground and it was ready for the mill. I milled off the remaining parts to get a nice uniform flatness to weld to. Then I busted out the ole Cardboard Aided Design whooped up a template and then transferred it some 1/4 plate. Quick work with the sawzall and flap disk she was ready to weld in no time. I proceeded to heat the plate and the case to 500 degrees then welded her up solid with regular ole mig wire. Heated it back up to 500 and wrapped it in two welding brackets and tucked her away for the night. Guess I’ll update tomorrow how she turned out here’s some pics of the process
