Jason & Mariah Kaminsky recently returned from their participation in the 49th Annual All-4-Fun event, hosted by the Mile High Jeep Club in Buena Vista, Colorado. While Jason was busy competing at the WEROCK event in Goldendale earlier in the week, the couple managed to make it over to the event on Thursday to blow off a little steam.

Jason & Mariah met up with a few friends from the Tucson Rough Riders and signed up for the Hancock Pass trail during Thursday night’s social hour. Friday morning, everyone was ready to leave at the designated 8am start time and we headed off into the mountains! For anyone who has never wheeled in this area; it’s an amazing mountain setting with 13,000 and 14,000 peaks all around. Historic mining roads provide access to the many peaks, valleys, and high mountain lakes throughout the area. Some of the more notorious trails in the area include Iron Chest, Carnage Canyon Boulder Trail, and the Holy Cross City Trail.

Jason ended up playing tail-gunner on the trip up to Hancock Lake. After the group concluded their participation on this organized run, it was time to head over to Chinaman’s Gulch Loop trail for a little more hardcore action.

We took a break to watch a couple guys attempt the exit at Carnage Canyon Boulder Trail, but decided to continue on our trail after breakage and the resulting recovery was taking too much time. We ended up meeting up with a younger couple out from Oklahoma who showed up in the area without knowing the All-4-Fun event was even in progress. We took them under our wing and completed the loop trail (backwards, actually!), just before the hard rain started. It was a fun day of wheeling with LJs. I’ve never seen so many LJs and Scramblers all in one place!

Saturday meant packing up, but Jason & Mariah weren’t ready to return to Durango just yet, so they went exploring south of Poncha Springs and found a secluded spot on the way back to fit in a day of rest.
