Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Trail Restoration at Vultee Arch Trailhead

Project: Trail Restoration at Vultee Arch Trailhead
Location: Arizona

Description: Vultee Arch Trailhead in the Coconino National Forest is a popular access point to some of the most beautiful hikes in Sedona. One of these trails is accessed at the end of a 4×4-only clearance trail along a dried riverbed. Non-4×4 vehicles will attempt to reach this trailhead and get stuck along the trail.

On January 24, 2024, 17 volunteers with the Red Rock OHV Conservation Crew and Coconino Red Rock Trail Crew worked to create obstacles to deter non-4×4 users from accessing this area by retaining an existing rock wall to aid in only off-road vehicle use.

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:

“It is truly amazing how individuals, companies and groups come together to volunteer their time and energy to work on the local Sedona trails. This ongoing dedication keeps our trails in great condition and safe for everyone to use”-Dan Candler, Outback ATV
