Project: Ward Canyon Spring Cleanup
Location: Utah

Description: On June 1, 2024, 16 volunteers and three Forest Service employees gathered on opening day of the Upper Ward Canyon Road for Tread Lightly!’s annual Ward Canyon Cleanup. Ward Canyon, located near the TL! HQ, is a popular riding and recreational shooting area. In total, volunteers removed over 700 pounds of trash from the road

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:

  • Salt Lake Ranger District

“It was a beautiful day to volunteer and clean up some of the most used public lands along the Wasatch Front. There were plenty of OHV users on the road and it was great to see them recreating responsibly. This road offers one of the most incredible views of the Great Salt Lake and I hope everyone here today took a minute to appreciate the surroundings and get a sense of why it’s important that we all do our part and give back to our public lands.”-Kabe Wolf, Tread Lightly! Utah Program Manager
