• GenRight Off Road Racing 3 Vehicles in 2 Classes at KOH2021

GenRight Off Road is excited to announce that Jordan Pellegrino will be racing in two classes for the 2021 Optima Batteries King of the Hammers presented by Lasernut. Jordan has been chosen by Factory Honda Off-Road Racing to race a Honda Talon UTV for his first UTV race ever. Jordan was selected after an exhaustive search for the right fit of driver for the Talon.

“I’m stoked that Factory Honda Off-Road selected me as a driver for the UTV race at King of the Hammers 2021. The team is great, our practices have gone extremely well, and I’m confident the Talon will get me to the finish line at the front of the pack. What is great is the suspension is similar to the “Unicorn” #98 full independent suspension car I race in 4400 class so the learning curve was minimal.” Explained Jordan.

Jordan will also be racing in the Optima Batteries King of the Hammers presented by Lasernut 4400 Unlimited Class race in his full independent suspension racecar built by GenRight Off Road. This will be Jordan’s second year racing in the “Unicorn” at KOH. The 800 horsepower FIS car is extremely fast in the desert, and works well in the rocks.

The “Unicorn” will be one of the few 4400 cars on 40” tires, but don’t let that fool you because the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires are one of the toughest all-around mud terrain on the market. In fact, The “Terremoto” JKU 4485 race Jeep that Tony Pellegrino raced in 2020 still has one tire from the KOH race last year on the Jeep!

In addition to Jordan driving in the 4400 race on Saturday, GenRight Off Road is extremely excited to announce that a fan of Ultra4 Racing watched King of the Hammers LIVE in 2020 and saw Tony Pellegrino racing the “Terremoto” JKU, and was inspired to build his JKU into a race jeep!  Tommy Dykstra learned how to weld and fabricate, thanks to many hours of YouTube videos, and turned his JKU into a race jeep. Complete with an LSX motor, GenRight Elite Suspension, roll cage and armor upgrades to pass tech, and he qualified for the 2021 KOH race last fall at the Lasernut Beatdown at BFE in Moab, UT.

The 2021 KOH race will be Tommy’s first King of the Hammers race, and second race of his career in offroad. “Tommy has shown such a huge dedication to Ultra4 Racing in his first few months in the sport that we are going to help him with his pit strategy, and fill in the gaps for his pit crew on race day with our crew from GenRight. It’s tough coming into this sport new, and getting enough help to get you to and through race day. We wanted to help in any way we could, since he is a superfan of the sport. He built a Jeep JKU clone of the “Terremoto” to race in, but his has a bigger motor! I don’t think anyone has ever built a 4400 class race Jeep because they were inspired when they watched the race. This is a first in Ultra4 Racing history!” Explained Tony Pellegrino, owner and founder of GenRight Off Road.

“GenRight has been great to work with on building “Noisy Boy” JKU for the 2021 race, and they didn’t stop with giving me pointers for the build, they had one of their staff that knew Area BFE extremely well, and she helped me qualify for the 2021 KOH race. My co-driver now is Tony’s original co-driver, Matt Perron, who knows Johnson Valley extremely well. We have also done a 4-day intensive training session out at Johnson Valley that really taught me how to drive the jeep and my way around JV since I have only been here once before.” Said an extremely enthusiastic Tommy Dykstra. His goal is to finish the race in time, and hopefully beat Tony Pellegrino’s placement of 32nd in the 2020 race in the “Terremoto” JKU.

GenRight Off Road Racing would like to thank our marketing partners for 2021:

  • ARB Releases Pressure Control with Compressor Connect

One of the key features of ARB’s vehicle accessory interface, LINX, allows users to set and control the compressor directly from the device without the need for an inflation or deflation gauge. ARB engineers have developed a standalone system that gives all users unmatched convenience and control when it is time to air up and down.

Introducing ARB’s Pressure Control Module, a Bluetooth module that allows hands-free operation during the air-up or down process. Simply plug the hose into the compressor and straight into the tire and operate the compressor via your phone using the Compressor Connect app.

With the ability to set a target pressure or save up to four custom presets for common uses such as sand, pavement, or gravel, the Bluetooth module will let air out or pump air into the tire to hit the desired pressure and advise you via vibration and/or audio alerts. Using this module removes the need for a tire gauge, streamlining the process when in the moment.

The Pressure Control Module is downloadable for iOS or Android.

  • FOX Shocks Dominate 2020 SCORE Baja 1000

15 of 25 4-wheel vehicle classes won by FOX drivers

El Cajon, CA – November 24, 2020 – FOX-equipped vehicles swept several classes and took overall victory at the recent SCORE Baja 1000, cementing the manufacturer’s dominance in the toughest and longest continuously-held desert race in the world. Luke McMillin and co-driver Larry Roeseler piloted their #83 vehicle to first overall and first in the Trophy Truck class, with FOX athletes claiming 15 of the top 25 relevant classes.

“This year’s race will be marked as one of the toughest loop courses ever and we’re proud to say that FOX shocks held up to the abuse, taking home wins in nearly all classes,” FOX’s new Director of Motorsports Bobby Smith said. “With nearly half the field failing to finish, the victorious FOX drivers are a testament to the performance and durability baked into our technology. Consumers can feel good about the fact that this translates into the products they get to drive on or off-road. Congratulations and thank you to all racers that choose FOX in their pursuit to conquer the brutal Baja desert and rise to the top of the podium.

“A special congratulations to Luke McMillin on earning his first Baja 1000 overall win along with his teammate and Baja legend, Larry Roeseler,” Smith added. “It was only a matter of time before he finally achieved that goal, and we are honored that he chose FOX to help get him there.”

    The Event

Many of the world’s best desert racers flexed their muscles at this year’s BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE Baja 1000, presented by 4 Wheel Parts, which started and finished in Ensenada, Baja California November 22. One hundred eighty-five vehicles toed the start line, with racers from nearly 30 U.S. States and 15 countries. By the end, just 99 racers finished.

    The Course

This year’s SCORE Baja 1000 was a loop race of 898.40 miles in the northern state of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. The distance was a race-record for a SCORE Baja loop race. It started for the 46th time and finish for the 27th time in Ensenada, a coastal city on the Bahia de Todos Santos area of the Pacific Ocean, 80 miles south of the U.S. border at San Diego.

“It was a great day,” McMillin said at the finish line. “Larry did an amazing job; he just kept it in line and had no downtime, which is exactly what you need to do in the first half of the SCORE Baja 1000. He brought me a clean truck; we were third and were right up there with the top leaders when I got in. We got some gnarly silt and some tough bumps out there. It’s hard to pick up your pace in a 1,000-mile race and don’t beat up the truck too much, so we tried to be strategic on that. It was a tough course, but a great course.” McMillin drove the second 430-mile leg to the checkered for a finishing time of 19 hours 10 minutes 24 seconds.

    The Results

    • FOX drivers claimed 8 of the top 10 4-wheeled vehicles, including a sweep of the top 4 in the premier SCORE Trophy Truck class:
      • 1st – Luke McMillin & Larry Roeseler
      • 2nd – Rob MacCachren & Josh Daniel
      • 3rd – Bryce Menzies & Andy McMillin
      • 4th – Cameron Steele & Bobby Pecoy
    • FOX also swept the top 5 positions in in Class 1 with Cody Parkhouse taking the win, while Jimco Racing Inc. CEO Robbie Pierce claimed victory in the SCORE TT Legends class;
    • In Trophy Truck spec, Dan Fresh and Jeff Bader finished first in class and 7th overall along with FOX Motorsports Tuner Mike Kim and Service Technician Erick Rivera as navigators;
    • FOX-equipped UTV’s swept all four UTV classes, took the top 5 in the Forced Induction class, the top 4 in the Naturally Aspirated class, and claimed the top 10 positions of all UTV classes combined:
      • Pro UTV FI & UTV overall winner – Wes Miller
      • Pro UTV NA winner – Francisco Arredondo
      • Pro UTV Unlimited winner – Eliott Watson
      • Pro Stock UTV winner – Carolina Sanchez
    • In total, FOX-equipped vehicles claimed 15 class wins and 26 podium positions across all 25 4-wheel-vehicle classes.

Additionally, three FOX UTV drivers soloed the entire race (Adrian Orellana, Marc Burnett and Kristen Matlock), in the car for over 26 hours or more. Good suspension definitely helps and prevents driver fatigue.

The race will be televised on a delayed basis as a one-hour special on the ABC TV Network’s World of X Games programming. First airing is set for Jan. 3, 2021 on ESPN2. It is being produced by SCORE in association with award-winning BCII TV of Los Angeles. Announcer is Hall of Fame racer and FOX athlete Cameron Steele. Complete SCORE Baja 1000 race results here.

Designed to lower coolant temperatures by as much as 20 degrees Fahrenheit while simultaneously protecting against harmful rust and corrosion. The new SuperCool products are available for order at authorized Red Line distributors and www.redlineoil.com.

During an independent test, Red Line’s SuperCool Performance reduced average coolant temperatures by 19.2 degrees Fahrenheit over OEM coolant under constant load.

SuperCool also provides protection against the initial effects of corrosion and helps prevent further damage, maintaining your engine’s optimum performance over the lifetime of the vehicle. Both SuperCool formulas can be added to any brand of existing OEM antifreeze/coolant in any make or model.
