    SANTA ANA, CA. – (Aug. 27, 2020) – Yokohama Tire is releasing seven educational videos in conjunction with The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association’s (USTMA) annual Tire Safety Week, August 31-September 6.

    Every day during Tire Safety Week, Yokohama will release one episode of the consumer-focused videos on its social media channels.     SANTA ANA, CA – (Apr. 1, 2020) – Yokohama Tire’s annual spring rebate promotion is back. From now through April 30, consumers can earn up to $100 in the form of a Yokohama Visa® Prepaid card or a Visa Virtual Account after purchasing a set of four select Yokohama tires.

    Yokohama Tire Names Two New Off-road Drivers for the 2020 Season

    Justin Lofton (Trophy Truck) and Levi Shirley (Ultra4 4400 class) will compete on purpose-built GEOLANDAR® M/T-Spec R race tires

    SANTA ANA, CA – (Jan. 22, 2020) – Two new drivers are part of Yokohama Tire’s 2020 off-road racing roster. Three-time Mint 400 winner Justin Lofton is Yokohama’s new Trophy Truck driver and Levi Shirley is taking the wheel in the Ultra4 4400 class. Both drivers will compete on purpose-built GEOLANDAR® M/T-Spec R race tires.

    Among Shirley’s many career highlights was being named Ultra4 Sportsman of the Year in 2011 and 2014. The title is a huge honor, as fellow drivers in Ultra4 vote on it.

    “We welcome Justin and Levi to the Yokohama off-road family. They are top drivers in their class and proven winners,” said Fardad Niknam, Yokohama’s senior director of consumer product planning and product marketing. “We’re excited to have them on our team this season competing on the rugged M/T-Spec R. We have developed race-ready tires for different desert terrains with various platforms, teams and drivers. We know it’s a tough tire that offers great traction and durability.”

    Lofton and Shirley join Pro UTV racers Wayne and Kristen Matlock as Yokohama’s 2020 off-road team. Wayne is a six-time SCORE champion, including the 2019 Pro Turbo UTV title. “Ironwoman” Kristen won the Pro UTV NA class in the 2019 Baja 1000.

    Yokohama Tire Named Official Tire of Crandon International Raceway

    SANTA ANA, CA. – (June 14, 2019) – Yokohama Tire continues to add to its impressive off-road racing legacy. The tire maker announced today it has partnered with Crandon International Raceway, making Yokohama the “Official Tire” of the legendary off-road facility.

    “Yokohama is proud to have finalized our exciting new partnership with iconic Crandon International Raceway,” said Fardad Niknam, Yokohama senior director of consumer product planning and product marketing. “The partnership is another significant stake in our off-road racing activities, and it’s at one of the sport’s most recognized and iconic venues. It’s the ideal place to highlight our rugged GEOLANDAR® line of light-truck tires.Fittingly, 2019 represents the 50th anniversary of Crandon, as well as Yokohama Tire in the United States.”

    The agreement begins at the upcoming Crandon Forest County Potawatomi Community Brush Run races and includes the rebranding of the track’s famous red and white barn, as well as other track signage and on-site hospitality.

    In addition to its partnership with the largest short-course off-road facility in the world, Yokohama is also supporting several trucks in the rapidly expanding Pro 2 category of the upcoming 2019 Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League season. Yokohama’s durable GEOLANDAR M/T® G003 tire will be on several Pro 2 entries, including longtime Crandon fan favorite and 2011 Crandon AMSOIL Cup winner Chad Hord.

    Hord is set for a two-race Crandon effort, piloting his potent #9 Yokohama/Ponsse-backed truck recently reworked by veteran crew chief Kyle Greaves. 

    Pro 2 entries, including the #23 Chevy of veteran racer Kevin Hanegraff and the two Fast Motorsports Group trucks of #40 Scott Voge and #42 Bob Brand, will also be on the M/Ts.
